Between the late 1940s and the late 1980s Downeast Maine was world famous for its Atlantic Salmon fishing. People came from around the corner and around the world, to cast a fly to the "king of the sport fish". Fortunately Phil Harriman of Cherryfield, a visionary and dedicated salmon advocate for more than 50 years, has preserved a piece of history from the heyday of Atlantic salmon angling in Downeast Maine.
