Bowdoin Expedition
In August 1996, twelve students from the Maine School of Science & Mathematics and the Caribou Vocational Technical Center recreated the 1605 voyage of English explorer George Weymouth with the help of the Schooner Bowdoin and a crew from the Maine Maritime Academy. Students received hands-on lessons in seamanship and conducted field tests in physics, geometry, history, coastal culture, botany, and archaeology.
