Collection contains [John Howard--home movies], reels documenting Orrington, Maine, and troop activities of the Katahdin Council contingent of Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts attended the 1960 Colorado Springs National Jamboree and the 1964 Valley Forge National Jamboree. The Girl Scouts made a trip to Boston to the Museum of Science. Both series, while centered on the local troop, offer footage of national events reflecting the activities of similar local troops. The Howards had a home in Orrington, Maine, as well as property in Moultonborough on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
