Collection contains "This Land of Ours: The State of Maine," a travelogue by Carl Dudley featuring a tour of Maine’s towns. Shoe factories and shipyards, dairy farms and potato farms, hay fields and blueberry fields, log driving and sawmills are included along with several colleges and historic sites.
Biographical/Historical Notes
Carl Dudley (1910-1973) made travelogues; in 1944 he started Dudley Pictures Corp., which produced the series This World of Ours and This Land of Ours. The donor’s father, Toivo Johnson, obtained the film from Minot Films, a Milbridge, Maine, distributor, to show at a fundraising event for the Dedham, Maine, school in 1952.
