Summary
Collection contains [Earl Hodgkins--home movies] covering twenty-three years of family history. The early reels document some family travel to New York state, and the remaining material shows many aspects of holiday and vacation life, as well as home life for the Hodgkins whose children were young in the late 1940s and 1950s. They took summer vacations at Popham Beach, Maine, and Mt. Desert Island. Their daughter participated in Girl Scout encampments filmed in this collection. Summer scenes include sardine carriers (fishing boats) in coastal harbors, canoeing, parades, and children using still cameras outdoors. Winter scenes include skiing, skating, Christmas, and making ice-cream.
Biographical/Historical Notes
The Hodgkins had a home in Orrington and live in Winter Harbor, Maine.
